Who can get Botox®, Xeomin, Dysport?
Am I a candidate for Botox®, Xeomin, Dysport?
You should avoid having Botox if you are pregnant, have an infection, an open skin site where the Botox would go or have multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis or Lambert – Eaton Syndrome. Some other history of a neurological condition may preclude you from having Botox as you may be at increased risk for having complications.
How Does Botox Work?
BOTOX® Cosmetic works beneath the surface: Wrinkles result from a combination of many factors including sun exposure, natural again, collagen changes and facial movements. When you contract your muscles when you frown, your brows contract, causing your skin to furrow and fold. And when you squint, the muscles around your eyes contract and cause crow’s feet. BOTOX® Cosmetic works beneath the skin’s surface and targets the underlying muscle activity that causes frown lines and crow’s feet to form over time. BOTOX® Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the look of both moderate to severe crow’s feet lines and frown lines between the eyebrows in adults.
